Scarlett Johansson, on her never-ending quest to make sure the American public is aware of her depth and intelligence (re: Elle magazine interview where she says, “If I weren’t making movies, I’d be an archaeologist, looking for fossils. I love ancient Egypt.” ), was the special guest at Barack Obama’s last big rally in Iowa Weds night. Looks like the celeb plug worked, since Obama won the caucus.
The actress spoke at a generation Y gathering, rallying young people to vote and launching the first Facebook Primary. If you ask us, Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg are getting a little too involved in everything that means anything to anyone. Just sayin’.
Now that the dynamic duo has won the hearts of the Iowan Caucus, perhaps they’ll help the corn capital with its ethanol production industry. Though ethanol is an effective source of alternative energy, the corn production facilities located in Iowa that generate ethanol create pollution that runs into the Mississipi river, expanding the “Dead Zone” in the Gulf, whose ecosystem is on the verge of collapse.
We’re hoping that Obs and ScarJo’s Iowa impact is a lasting one.
