Farm Aid is a concert festival that began at Live Aid in 1985 when Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp heard Bob Dylan’s call about helping America’s family farmers compete in the increasingly corporate–and eco-unfriendly–agriculture industry.

Along with the three founders, the lineup includes Dave Matthews, Matisyahu and Guster along with local organic novelty foods like soy dogs, beer and possibly organic funnel cakes. General admission tickets are $52. Or, you could volunteer and get in for free. You might have to sort trash, but it could be fun if you’re into getting your hands dirty for a green cause while being serenaded by the Cougar. Bacon Bits
