Sanjaya is Moving to L.A. by Bacon Bits

American Idol cast-off Sanjaya Malakar and his family have put their Seattle-area home on the market and are moving to Los Angeles with showbiz aspirations.

With green dreams of a different strain, it’s Hollywood or bust for Sanjaya and the Malakars. The androgynous Idol with the wacky hair and an inescapable gaze has decided that he’s not really feeling Seattle anymore, so he and the fam are moving to Los Angeles to be closer to “the industry.”

This move is kind of bittersweet for us; in Seattle Sanjaya has a lovely city with maybe the greenest mayor in America, Greg Nickels. Who, in 2005, issued a challenge to mayors across America to take local action toward meeting the Kyoto Protocol, because Dubya wouldn’t sign it. Today, that list of mayors runs over 500 deep.

In Hollywood, Sanjaya will get lots of parties and attention–two of our favorite foods–and a mayor who cheated on his wife with an anchorwoman. Honestly, can you really blame Sanjaya for wanting to move to L.A.? At any rate, it does make us feel better knowing that the mayor advocates for cleaner burning fuels even though everyone just wants to talk about the hot anchorwoman. Bacon Bits
