Who the hell told CWTV/Gossip Girl that Halloween was a legal holiday?? by beanstockd

ps. Why is Leighton Meester obsessed with this chocolate-brown Wet Seal-esque ensemble? It’s so out of character.

So we almost let this go after sulking for 5 days now, but after making an irresistible “drink this or swipe your MetroCard home, Humphrey” Blair Waldorf reference it’s time to just call this out. Who else is peeved that there was no Gossip Girl last Wednesday because of Halloween? Since when is Halloween a legal holiday??

In our confusion, we ran through the list of things that do NOT get canceled on October 31:

1. US Postal Service

2. NASDAQ

3. Private banks

4. Public schools

5. ABC’s “Private Practice” (which speaking of, should be canceled altogether)

Things that do:

1. CW’s “Gossip Girl”

Granted, Gossip Girl may have a right to hold itself above the US Postal Service in terms of national importance.

But at least the lack of a new episode did allow us to stumble upon CWTV’s Free to be Green site, featuring green clips from the leads of CWTV’s hit shows. Blair and Serena getting lattes in reusable mugs to save 25 billion disposable cups, and Penn Bagdley suggesting we cut down on paper use by taking our names off the “baby ninja puppy catalogue” mailing list might just tide us over til Wednesday.

the reason it was preempted on Halloween is b/c its ENTIRE demographic would be out celebrating the “non-legal” holiday as you call it. (IE. Trick or treating, egging cars, toilet papering houses) The usual debauchery.
